Firefox extensions for RP
A lot of people are making the leap from Chrome and other browsers to Firefox for privacy and security reasons. I personally have made this switch, and being a heavy user of browser extensions I've also found several that help make RP easier.
You can access and pin all Firefox extensions via the puzzle piece button at the upper right of the browser. Click on the button and then click the gear menu to pin it.
Multi-account Containers on Firefox allow you to stay logged in to multiple character accounts at the same time. In conjunction with the Tab Groups extension, it's easy to switch your focus between tagging for different characters. Check out
spaceconfessional's tutorial on how to use them here.
You can get Multi-Account Containers here and Simple Tag Groups here.
Typing out styled font tags and bracket text code is annoying every time you go to tag. I use Fox Replace to put in a keyword and allow it to put the tags in for me! For example, it's set so that if I type in <tt> it'll replace that with <font face=monospace> automatically.
Fox Replace is available here. Here's a tutorial on how to use it:
This is a password service that will fill in your password for you with a single click. I use it for all my passwords, so I have a Roleplay folder in the extension that saves all my DW logins in the same place. Your Bitwarden account has a master password that you will want to be unique and strong.
You can get Bitwarden's extension here.
Here's a few screenshots of Bitwarden in action:

Note the Fill button on each row.

Here you can simply click on the drop-down containing the user name and it'll fill the user name and password in for you automatically.
I have been turning this off for all my screenshots but if you don't like Dreamwidth's dark mode site skin because the background is flat black, this is the extension for you. You can adjust the colors to be a cooler or lighter gray and do some other things with it.
This is what DarkReader makes my account settings page look like with the settings I've chosen for DW:

Here's what DarkReader's interface looks like:

Note the buttons that allow you to turn it on or off for individual sites, turn it off altogether (both at the top), and change settings for individual sites (2/3 of the way down toward the bottom).
Also note that DarkReader treats every DW journal as if it were a separate site – if I turn the extension off for one journal, it will still be on for the main site. This is important if you go to someone's journal and the colors appear strangely, since DarkReader flips the value of the colors. You can turn it off to make an individual journal more readable.
You can get DarkReader here.
Ever wish you could just pause incoming emails so you can catch up on tags? Well, with Boomerang you can. There are a few other useful features in Boomerang, such as scheduled emails, but the main one I find relevant for RP is the pause button that will appear at the upper left of your inbox after it's installed.

- Click the puzzle piece and then click on Fox Replace. A context menu will pop up; select Options. This will open up in a new tab.
- Under Substitution List, click the Add button.
- Click from the URL option to the Substitutions option.
- Choose what you want the shortcut to be and put it in the replace column. I use <tt> for text tag code and <sm> for bracket text tags.
- Put the code you need it to substitute the shortcut with in the With column. Make sure to include both the open and close tags, each on their own line.
- Make sure to scroll to the bottom and hit OK.
- Go back to the Substitutions List and scroll to the bottom. Check the box that says "Apply automatic substitutions every [1] seconds" and change the timing, if you wish. I left it at 1 second.
Make sure the keywords are unique things you won't type all the time! You also can't substitute the beginning of a tag with the entire tag because it'll become a recursion loop – I found this out when I tried to get <sm to replace with <small>[ . It kept replacing over and over in a loop. That's why my keyword for smalltext is <sm> .
